This laboratory at the Earth and Environmental Sciences Department, has developed over the years researches on enzymatic biomarkers to assess and interpret the impact of xenobiotics on living organisms in the three areas of water, air and soil. It is also involved in studies with enzyme inhibitors, and more recently has been involved in detection of oxidants organic compounds present in particulate air matter through reactions with proteins in solution or immobilized.
